Deion Branch, WR, New England Patriots: That sure didn’t take long, did it? Branch was traded back to New England last week and promptly caught nine passes for 98 yards and one touchdown in Sunday’s win over Baltimore. More importantly, he led the team in targets, with 12. Looks like Tom Brady has found his replacement for Randy Moss.

Justin Forsett, RB, Seattle Seahawks: We only recommend Forsett for owners in deeper leagues because he’s going to be part of a timeshare in Seattle now that Marshawn Lynch is in the mix. But against a very stout Chicago defense, Forsett racked up 76 total yards and a score on just 11 touches. He won’t be a consistent producer, but the upcoming schedule is very favorable.

Michael Jenkins, WR, Atlanta Falcons: We told you to get on this guy last week. Jenkins made his 2010 debut with the Falcons in impressive style on Sunday, catching five passes for 99 yards on a team-high 11 targets. Jenkins won’t save your season, but he could make for a serviceable WR3.

Chris Ivory, RB, New Orleans Saints: ALERT: This pickup is only good for as long as starting running back Pierre Thomas is out with an injury. Ivory stepped up big at Tampa on Sunday when he racked up 175 total yards on only 16 touches. Remember, this is NOT a long-term solution.

Patrick Crayton, WR, San Diego Chargers: ALERT: This pickup is only good until either Malcom Floyd or Vincent Jackson returns to action. With Floyd battling a hamstring injury, Crayton stepped up and caught six passes for 117 yards on seven targets at St. Louis. He should serve as a nice bye-week substitute this Sunday when the Chargers host the Patriots.

Matt Cassel, QB, Kansas City Chiefs: Cassel looked solid at Houston on Sunday when he completed 20 of 29 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions. An upcoming schedule that features Jacksonville, Buffalo, Oakland, Denver and Seattle should provide him with plenty of opportunities to cash in and score some solid fantasy points.

Davone Bess, WR, Miami Dolphins: We’ve mentioned Bess in this column before, but thought he was worth bringing up again because he’s starting to play some solid football. Over his last three games, the Miami wide receiver has scored two touchdowns and is averaging 9.0 targets per game. This guy looks like a reliable WR3 option for owners in deeper leagues.

Kevin Kolb, QB, Philadelphia Eagles: No analysis needed because we’ve already burnt ourselves out talking about the quarterback situation in Philly. All you need to know is that Kolb has the hot hand and has a chance to regain the starting gig for good with a win at Tennessee on Sunday. His QB rating over his last two starts is an impressive 118.7.

Danario Alexander, WR, St. Louis Rams: This one is a bit of a long shot because Alexander is an inexperienced rookie on a mediocre St. Louis football team. But that doesn’t change the fact that he caught four passes for 72 yards and a touchdown on five targets this past Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. Somebody in St. Louis needs to step up. Why not Alexander?

Ben Watson, TE, Cleveland Browns: With rookie Colt McCoy at quarterback in Week 6 at Pittsburgh, Watson was targeted nine times. He caught six of those passes for 88 yards and a touchdown. Inexperienced quarterbacks always look to check-down to their safety valve (which is usually the tight end), so Watson could continue to see some quality burn with McCoy in the lineup. According to head coach Eric Mangini, there is a good chance that McCoy will get the start again this week for the Browns when they travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints.
