Tressel hired as Colts replay consultant

Jim Tressel's name might be mud with the NCAA, but that doesn't necessarily mean much in NFL circles.
The Indianapolis Colts have hired Tressel to be a game-day consultant.

Colts coach Jim Caldwell made the announcement during a conference call with reporters on Friday.

Tressel's primary duties will be to monitor plays that can potentially be replayed in order to free up the other assistant coaches for their regular duties, according to the Associated Press.

Tressel won the 2002 national championship at Ohio State and became a coaching icon there, until scandal involving quarterback Terrelle Pryor and other players caused his tenure to come unraveled, in large part because of information he hid from the NCAA.

No word yet on whether Tressel has a royal blue sweater vest in his closet.
