Steve Smith exacts revenge on Panthers
Cut by the Carolina Panthers in March, Baltimore Ravens veteran wide receiver Steve Smith delivered on his vows to prove his old team had made a mistake.
Smith caught seven passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns, including a tip-drill score off a deflected pass intended for tight end Owen Daniels.
Smith played for the Panthers for 13 seasons.
"I didn't have anything good, bad or indifferent to say," Smith said. "I just played. At the end of the day, honestly they didn't deserve anything I had to say that would be derogatory -- and I didn't need to. They didn't even deserve me to spin the ball on them. I just caught it and put it down and went about my business."
Smith did get in one dig at his old team after becoming the oldest receiver in NFL history to have more than 400 receiving yards in his first four games.
