Source: Williams working out for Broncos today

If you want depth in this year’s draft class, look no further than the defensive tackle position.

Nebraska’s Ndamukong Suh and Oklahoma’s Gerald McCoy may grab all of the headlines, but there are at least four other defensive tackles that have a shot at the first round.

One of those “other four” is Tennessee’s Dan Williams, who is working out for the Denver Broncos Thursday, per a league source.

The 6’2”, 327-pounder recorded 61 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and nine quarterback hurries for the 7-6 Volunteers in 2009. Williams capped the year by earning first-team Associated Press All SEC honors.

In addition to Alabama linebacker Rolando McClain and Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant, Williams has been one of the players linked to the Broncos and their first-round pick (11th overall) this offseason.

Denver ranked 26th in the NFL against the run in 2009 (128.7 yds/gm) and gave up an average of 30.5 points per game over their last four outings (0-4), so it makes a lot of sense for them to address the defense with their first-round pick.
