Source: Pat Angerer worked out for Saints, Jets

The New Orleans Saints and New York Jets have worked out former Indianapolis Colts and Altanta Falcons linebacker Pat Angerer this week, according to a league source.

He has also worked out for the St. Louis Rams since the Falcons cut him.

The former Iowa standout has dealt with foot and knee injuries that have sidelined him for portions of the past two seasons.

He ended last season on injured reserve with the Colts.

Angerer got his career off to a great start, tallying 88 tackles in 2010 and 148 in 2011. In 2012, that number dipped to 28 and in 2013 he finished with only 63 tackles in nine starts.

When healthy, Angerer is a tough, productive linebacker.
