Ryan Grant is a man of his word.

He told the Milwaukee Brewers he would be on hand for a ceremony before their home opener to honor the Green Bay Packers. And his word was, well, gold.

Grant was interviewed during Monday’s broadcast of the Brewers-Atlanta Braves game on Fox Sports Wisconsin after he was one of 11 Packers to throw out a ceremonial first pitch prior to the game.

Grant detailed how he eventually had to charter a private jet to get from New York to Milwaukee and Miller Park.

“My car service that was supposed to me pick me up and take me to the airport from New York," Grant said, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "As I stuck my hand to open the car door, he locked the door and drove off. It sounds crazy, but that’s exactly what happened. He drove away slowly so I thought he was going to make a U-turn. He might have been a Giants fan, I don’t know. He wasn’t a Packers fan. He just kept going. I looked at my brother and my friend and said, ‘Did we just get pranked? Is this a joke?’ "

Grant then drove to the airport but a traffic jam prevented him from getting there before his flight left.

“I told them I was going to be here, so I had to make sure I was here,” Grant said.

So how much was that private jet?

“Lot of money,” he said. “Lot of, lot of, money. My friend and my brother joined me. I told them to enjoy the flight and stay awake.”

The good news is Grant, who missed nearly all of last season with an ankle injury, said he feels as healthy now as he has in a long time.
