Report: NFL whacks DeAngelo Hall with $30,000 fine

The NFL took its time sorting through whatever evidence it needed to evaluate and then came down hard on Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall hard as punishment for his incident with a game official at Pittsburgh last month.

Hall has been fined $30,000 for the incident, according to Mark Maske of the Washington Post. It’s a steep fine but it beats one alternative – being suspended for a game. Hall was ejected from the game after he got into a heated argument with head linesman Dana McKenzie.

Hall maintained in a radio interview after the incident that McKenzie was equally to blame and that could be one reason the wheels of justice turned slowly. Typically, game fines are announced the following week.
