Report: Campbell has permission to seek trade

Donovan McNabb is at Redskins Park today and will be introduced officially at a press conference later today.

Washington’s former quarterback Jason Campbell isn’t there, and he isn’t expected to be coming around any time soon, reports Jason Reid of the Washington Post. He writes that Campbell will no longer volunteer for the voluntary offseason workout program, and Campbell plans to shut it down with media too. Campbell was informed of the organization’s trade for McNabb on Sunday night by a reporter.

Campbell met with coach Mike Shanahan on Monday and now it would appear the organization needs to trade the former first-round draft pick. Shanahan has granted Campbell and agent Joel Segal permission to seek a trade. There are a handful of teams believed to be in the market for a quarterback but the destinations are far from ideal.
