Rams sign Wes Welker

The St. Louis Rams signed veteran wide receiver Wes Welker. Welker was signed with wide receiver Stedman Bailey suspended for four games for violating the NFL substance-abuse policy. It's a one-year contract for Welker. "We believe he can help us and this offense," Rams coach Jeff Fisher siad. Welker hasĀ 890 career receptions forĀ 9,822 yards and 50 touchdowns, but also has a history of concussions. Head injuries forced the former Broncos receiver to miss two games last season and he was limited to 49 catches for 464 yards and two touchdowns. The Rams also worked out receiversĀ Hakeem Nicks and Vincent Brown. Follow me on Twitter: @AaronWilson_NFL Aaron Wilson covers the Texans for The Houston Chronicle.
