Prosecutor denies arrest warrant for Lions player

The Wayne County, Mich. Prosecutors Office has denied request by Plymouth Police to issue an arrest warrant for a Detroit Lions player.

According to Tom “Killer” Kowalski of MLive.com, the prosecutor’s office deemed there wasn’t a case to issue warrant for an anonymous player who had been accused of inappropriate touching of a sexual nature.

“There was never a doubt in our mind that the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office would reach the conclusion they did,'' the players’s attorney Jay Colvin told Kowalski.

The incident occurred at a Plymouth bar on Jan. 3, the day after the season ended. Colvin has requested that the player’s name be redacted from records. An attorney for the woman has talked about the strong possibility of a civil suit. Without a criminal case, it remains to be seen if that will happen.
