Pete Carroll will give Mike Williams a shot

The Seattle Seahawks are a last-chance destination this weekend.

Mike Williams, one of the poster boys for draft busts when it comes to wide receivers, will participate in the team’s minicamp this weekend on a tryout basis, according to Mike Sando of ESPN.com.

Williams, chosen 10th overall by Detroit’s Matt Millen regime in 2005, has bombed out with the Lions and then in stops with Tennessee and Oakland. But Williams played for new Seahawks coach Pete Carroll at USC and, well, there’s no harm in kicking the tires on him. Williams is 26 and unlikely to generate any interest anywhere else in the league.

Former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Reggie Williams will also get a tryout, per the report. Hey, someone has to take Deion Branch’s spot on the roster after he’s traded or pushed out the door, right?
