Ohio State lands one of the top players in South Carolina

Michael Hill, one of the top defensive tackles in the Class of 2013, has given a verbal commitment to Urban Meyer and Ohio State.

The Pendleton High School (Pendleton, SC) product is a consensus four-star recruit, so he's yet another quality defensive lineman brought aboard since Meyer's arrival in Columbus.

The 6-2, 315-pounder, who some believe is the top recruit in the state of South Carolina, is an ideal fit at nose guard because of his ability to absorb double teams, allowing linebackers to roam free behind him. Hill, who is the Buckeyes' second defensive tackle in the Class of 2013, is the 15th overall commitment for Ohio State.

Hill held offers from such powers as Alabama, Clemson, Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee. He recorded 81 tackles (25 for loss), six sacks and four forced fumbles in 2011.
