Not much evidence in case vs. Spencer Havner

Sounds like there will not be drunken driving chargers brought against Green Bay Packers tight end Spencer Havner unless Ponch and John can drum up some more evidence in the case.

According to a report by Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Nevada County (Calif.) district attorney’s office has returned a case against Havner to the California Highway Patrol. The D.A. is seeking additional evidence and witness accounts of the situation.

Police didn’t meet Havner until he was hospitalized following what was or may have been a motorcycle accident. The problem for the Highway Patrol? Well, they didn’t see the accident happen and apparently the motorcycle had been moved before they could explore the scene. What’s worse? Havner has few recollections of the incident.

Havner suffered a broken shoulder and will be limited for at least several more weeks while he recovers from the accident in which a crime might have been committed but will be awfully difficult to prove in court.
