Nguyen leaves Cowboys coaching staff

FORT LAUDERDALE - Dat Nguyen will not be a member of the Cowboys' coaching staff in 2010.
Nguyen has elected not to sign a contract extension after serving as the team's assistant linebacker/defensive assistant from 2007-09. Earlier in the week owner and general manager Jerry Jones said all of the coaches would return with deals through 2011, matching the extension Wade Phillips' received.
Nguyen is not with the coaches in Fort Lauderdale getting ready for Sunday's Pro Bowl.
A third-round pick in 1999, Nguyen played through 2005, retiring because of a neck injury. He was among the first to join Phillips' staff in 2009 and was well-liked by the players, some of whom were his teammate.
