Mike Evans doubts Johnny Manziel will party during training camp
Known for his hard-partying, fun-loving ways, Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel is frequently seen on Instagram living it up whether it's in Las Vegas, Texas, New York or California.
His former Texas A&M wide receiver Mike Evans says he seriously doubts Manziel will be partying during training camp, though.
"In training camp, I don't think he'll go out at all,'' Evans told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "He'll be committed and devoted and fighting for a starting job."
Evans says Manziel likes to have fun, but knows when it's time to work.
"Yeah, absolutely,'' Evans said. "In college when he was doing it, I didn't care as long as he was coming to play ball. He's commitment to the team. He's a competitor, and he wants to win. What he does off the field is none of my business. ..
"He's a great guy. He practiced hard. He came to work. He's one of my best friends. So I wouldn't trade him for anybody. I think he'll be a great pro. He's a great guy. He's a better guy than most people give him credit for."
Evans also said Manziel faces more scrutiny than other players.
"It's just he's under a bigger microscope than everybody,'' Evans. "Being a Heisman Trophy winner and coming out of college, he's just under a bigger microscope. Everybody does it. When he gets on the field, all of that will go to rest."
