Martellus Bennett visiting Giants

The New York Giants made it very clear they would be a player in free agency for a tight end, and they’re acting quickly.

Martellus Bennett announced on his Twitter account that he is visiting the Giants, and a source in Dallas said the Cowboys expect to lose him to New York.

The Giants saw two tight ends go down in their Super Bowl XLVI victory over the New England Patriots. Jake Ballard and Travis Beckum both suffered torn ACL’s and the timing of the injuries makes it certain they will not be ready for the start of the season. It’s possible both could miss the entire 2012 season.

So, Bennett could enter the picture and give Eli Manning an athletic target in the middle third of the field.
