Mark Ingram ready to play vs. Lions

Saints running back Mark Ingram is ready to give his team a boost this Sunday against Detroit.

After missing three games due to a broken hand, Ingram is on track to play this week. He was a full participant in practice, signaling that he should be in the starting lineup come kickoff.

Ingram got off to a good start at the beginning of the season, rushing for 60 yards and two touchdowns against the Saints and 83 yards and a touchdown against the Browns. With Ingram out of the lineup, Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson took more responsibility in the backfield.

The Lions are a tough team to run against, evidenced by their NFL second-best rushing yards allowed (73.5). In those two games, Ingram has averaged six yards per carry.
