Mark Chmura: Jermichael Finley's career likely over

Former Packers tight end Mark Chmura is predicting that Jermichael Finley's football career will come to an end.

Chmura told radio station 540 ESPN Milwaukee that he had a chance to talk to Finley, who told him he would be having surgery on his C3 and C4 vertebrae.

Thus, Chmura thinks Finley's career is likely over.

"I think it’s gonna be a Nick Collins deal," Chmura told the radio station. "He’s definitely not gonna play in Green Bay, I’d put my house on that.”

Collins had a similar injury, a herniated disk that required surgery. He was never able to play football again.

Finley injured his neck last month against the Browns. He has since been placed on injured reserve.
