Karlos Dansby says Falcons, Texans, Jets also interested

Karlos Dansby made a visit to the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday and the free agent linebacker says more teams have interest in him.

Dansby characterized his meeting in Arizona as “good,” according to John Gambadoro of KTAR-AM 620, but mentioned that the Atlanta Falcons, Houston Texans and New York Jets are also interested. To what degree remains to be seen. Earlier this offseason Dansby visited the Buffalo Bills.

If any of these teams was making a substantial offer to Dansby, he would probably be signed at this point. The 31-year-old spent the previous three seasons with the Miami Dolphins after beginning his career with six years in Arizona. Dansby, who signed a $42.5 million, five-year contract with the Dolphins in 2010, was expendable after Miami signed inside linebacker Dannell Ellerbe away from the Baltimore Ravens. He’s not going to find anything close to the kind of money he had in that contract in an offer from a team at this point.

The Cardinals might want Dansby back because they know they’re going to miss Daryl Washington for the first four games of the regular season and with domestic violation allegations hanging over the player now, he could be in more trouble.
