Jay Ratliff charged with DWI after wreck with 18-wheeler

Less than two months after Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent was charged with intoxication manslaughter, teammate Jay Ratliff has been charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Ratliff, the team’s starting nose tackle, was arrested early Tuesday after he crashed his 2011 Ford truck into an 18-wheeler, Grapevine, Texas, police said, according to ESPN Dallas. There were no injuries in the accident.

Ratliff was bonded out of jail and team officials had nothing to say about the incident, which comes on the heels of Brent’s wreck in which Cowboys practice squad linebacker Jerry Brown was killed. Brent has been indicted by a grand jury. Brent, who was arrested for DUI while in college at Illinois, could face up to 20 years in prison.
