The Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints have not quite finished all of their business.

In the first week of OTA’s, four of the club’s restricted free agents have yet to sign on the dotted line. With 20 days until the deadline where teams can reduce an RFA’s tender offer to 110 percent of his 2009 base salary, it is unclear when those players will be under contract.

Running back Pierre Thomas, offensive tackle Jammal Brown, wide receiver Lance Moore and safety Roman Harper have yet to sign contracts, according to Mike Triplett. Moore and Harper have reached injury protection agreements with the team and have been participating. Thomas and Brown have not been present this week.

The Saints, coming off their first championship, started their offseason program April 19, later than most clubs. Brown hasn’t been around at all as he angles for a new contract. The expectation is that Thomas will also receive a multi-year extension. The report indicates that Thomas had a cousin shot in Chicago last week and it could be he’s tending to family matters. The Saints will hold minicamp starting June 4, but it’s only mandatory for players under contract.

With Jahri Evans cashing in on the richest contract in league history for a guard -- $56.7 million over seven years – surely it’s only made the other players more hungry for their own pay day.
