HBO still hoping to pull off 'Hard Knocks' this summer

No one can say with any certainty at this point when teams will begin reporting to training camp.

But when they do HBO is still hoping to be there to chronicle the adventures and experiences of one of them.

An HBO official told the Sporting News the network remains hopeful that a labor agreement can come in time for it to find a team that will grant it the kind of unparalleled access needed to pull off the behind-the-scenes show “Hard Knocks” that was so popular last summer when Rex Ryan and the New York Jets were featured.

We are monitoring developments and remain hopeful of presenting a new season of ‘Hard Knocks,’” HBO spokesman Raymond Stallone told Sporting News. “Beyond that we are not going to speculate.”

There are some NFL clubs that flat out aren’t going to have anything to do with the show. So, it could be HBO has more trouble finding an organization to feature than the sides do getting a deal done in time. That would be a shame, because HBO has done such a great job with the series.
