Giants announce Feagles is back in the fold

The contract stalemate Jeff Feagles had with the New York Giants is over.

The 44-year-old punter has signed a contract, according to the Twitter account of Giants’ veteran PR man Pat Hanlon. He’s coming back for a 23rd season in the NFL.

Feagles earned $1.5 million last season and was looking for more money. There is no word on what he received in his new deal, not yet anyway. In the meantime, the Giants have been kicking the tires on some other options, and they signed Jy Bond, a former Australian rules football player. Whether it becomes an open competition remains to be seen.

Feagles averaged 40.7 yards per punt last season and his net was only 36 yards, but he is only two years removed from a Pro Bowl season.
