From worst to first (victory!)

In the midst of enjoying the euphoric high of an actual Detroit Lions victory last Sunday afternoon, I just may have hit my lowest point as a human being.

I tripped over my good buddy’s golden retriever, Otis, as I attempted to leap into the air to celebrate Larry Foote’s game-ending tackle.

There it was — man’s best friend taking one for the team as two grown men nearing 30 celebrated as if they had just won the Mega Millions. But that’s how good a singular victory felt, the first since Dec. 23, 2007.
