The Philadelphia Eagles found a veteran quarterback as they signed Trent Edwards to a one-year deal.

It’s a move that has been expected for some time as the Eagles hosted him at their facility to check him out. Edwards started 32 games for the Buffalo Bills and one with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was out of football last season after being released by the Oakland Raiders at the end of training camp.

A third-round pick out of Stanford by the Bills in 1997, Edwards is a bright player who could jump-start his career with the move to the Eagles. He’s competition for the backup role behind Michael Vick. The Eagles will surely be looking for progress from Mike Kafka in his third season too.
