The Miami Dolphins were the first professional sports team in South Florida, and for the longest time, its most dominant.

But with Miami a four-sport town, and with the Dolphins falling on hard times in recent years, the season-ticket base is taking a hit, according to the Miami Herald.

The Marlins have a brand new ballpark, the Heat has LeBron James and Dwyane Wade readying for the playoffs, and the NHL Panthers are in the postseason as well.

According to the report, the Dolphins' sag on the field has caused their fan base to sag too. Over the years, their season ticket base has eroded from 60,000 to about half that, which is why GM Jeff Ireland was on a media blitz in the past week.

There is really only one thing that cures sagging attendance, and that is putting a quality product on the field.
