Depleted Colts put Brackett, Bullett on IR

The bad news for the Indianapolis Colts keeps getting worse.

This time the woes are on a defense that showed signs of life in Sunday nights' 23-20 loss to Pittsburgh.

Indianapolis placed both linebacker Gary Brackett and Melvin Bullett on injured reserve on Wednesday, as both players are suffering from shoulder injuries. Neither played Sunday night.

Brackett suffered his shoulder injury against the Houston Texans in the season opener, and has not played since. Bullett was injured in week two against the Cleveland Browns.

To make room on the roster, the Colts signed linebacker A.J. Edds off the New England Patriots practice squad, and also officially added QB Dan Orlovsky, who worked out on Tuesday, back to the 53-man roster.

In addition to those moves announced by the Colts, Phillip Wilson of the Indianapolis Star tweets that the Colts have also cut cornerback Justin Tryon.
