David Diehl will not miss training camp for court appearance

David Diehl’s original court appearance following an arrest last month for drunken driving would have conflicted with training camp.

So, the New York Giants offensive lineman showed up in Queens Criminal Court early to take care of some business, according to the New York Post. Diehl was originally on the docket to appear Thursday, the first day of camp for the defending Super Bowl champions.

According to the report, Diehl’s attorneys arranged a brief hearing and updated the judge on “continuing discussions for a possible disposition.”

Diehl was arrested on June 10 after allegedly wrecking his BMW into parked cars. He is due in court again on Sept. 7 – two days after the Giants kick off the 2012 season against the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium.
