Cruz hurts heel, Tuck strains hamstring

It was a rough night for the New York Giants from a health standpoint.

Wide receiver Victor Cruz bruised his heel, center David Baas sprained his medial collateral ligament and defensive end Justin Tuck strained his hamstring.

Cruz was signed to a $46 million contract this summer.

“He felt fine,” Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks said of Cruz. “I think they just played it safe.”

Giants coach Tom Coughlin said of Cruz: “I don’t know. He runs to make his living, and he’s obviously got an issue with his heel. Hopefully, it’s not going to be a long-term (thing), but I really don’t have the information to tell you.”
