Cowboys to sign Spillman, Toomer

The Dallas Cowboys are addding safety C.J. Spillman and linebacker Korey Toomer to the roster.

Spillman is a special-teams ace who had a career-high 25 special-teams tackles last season.

He was cut Saturday by the San Francisco 49ers.

Spillman has a previous stint with the San Diego Chargers.

Toomer is also expected to join the Cowboys.

Toomer is a former Seattle Seahawks fifth-round draft pick.

Toomer spent last season on the non-football injury list.
