Colts owner Jim Irsay plans to attend league meetings

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay plans to be in Atlanta to present Indianapolis' 2018 Super Bowl bid to NFL owners on May 20.

Irsay went into a rehab treatment facility after being caught with drugs during a driving under the influence arrest in March.

Irsay is a part of Indianapolis' Super Bowl presentation.

Colts chief operating officer Pete Ward made the announcement during a press conference.

"Jim's planning on being at the meeting," Ward said. "Every owner of the franchises whose city is bidding has a chance to talk for five minutes, so he plans on talking to the ownership. He's very excited about the bid. . . He has become increasingly more active in terms of lobbying and just keeping tabs on how things are going."

Ward didn't discuss Irsay's treatment status.

Irsay was arrested March 17 on charges of driving under the influence and four felony charges of possession of controlled substance. There were several pill bottles and cash in Irsay's car.
