Cardinals rookie Jonathan Cooper broke his fibula

Arizona Cardinals rookie first-round offensive guard Jonathan Cooper broke his left fibula and could be out for the season.

Cooper is hurt so badly that the Cardinals aren't even holding out much hope of placing him on the injured reserve-designated to return list.

The Cardinals also sustained multiple injuries in addition to Cooper, including running back Rashard Mendenhall (knee), tight end Rob Housler (right ankle), tight end D.C. Jefferson (ankle), outside linebacker Matt Shaughnessy (ankle), nose guard Dan Williams (ankle) and wide receiver Andre Roberts (quadriceps).

With Cooper out, the Cardinals are expected to go with Paul Fanaika or Chilo Rachal.
