Campbell begins throwing

Oakland Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell has taken the next step in his rehab, as he has progressed to light throwing according to Steve Corkran of The Contra Costa Times.

"Not very far," said Raiders head coach Hue Jackson. "But he’s pitching it around a little bit and he's getting better."

The former first-round draft choice from Auburn has not thrown a football since fracturing his collarbone on October 16th.

The Raiders have not placed Campbell on injured reserve and remain optimistic that he can return in time to back up starting quarterback Carson Palmer in December.

In six games this season, Campbell has passed for 1,170 yards with six touchdowns and four interceptions.
