Browns say Hillis not on trading block

Yes, Peyton Hillis has a hamstring injury that might force him to miss some time for the Cleveland Browns.

But as the trade deadline nears this afternoon, Browns coach Pat Shurmur said one thing is certain: Hillis will remain in Cleveland for the rest of the season.

There had been some talk that the Browns might try to deal Hillis, or that he might request a trade, given the inability of Hillis and the Browns to get together on a contract extension.

But Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Hillis is staying put with the Browns, who now must wait for him to recover from a hamstring injury suffered early in Sunday's loss to the Oakland Raiders.
