Browns add Jordan Poyer

The Cleveland Browns claimed defensive back Jordan Poyer off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles, cutting defensive back Julian Posey.

Poyer is a 6-0, 191-pound defensive back in his rookie season out of Oregon State. Selected by the Eagles in the seventh round, he appeared in three games and registered two tackles on defense and one on special teams.

A consensus All-American as a senior at Oregon State, and semifinalist for the Bednarik and Thorpe awards, Poyer also was an outfielder briefly at Oregon State and was selected by the Florida Marlins in the 42nd round of the 2009 draft.
