Britt says left knee is keeping him from practicing

Kenny Britt continues to stay on the physically unable to perform list for the Tennessee Titans due to three knee procedures between last October and June.

Britt blew out the ACL and MCL in his right knee in week three last season, and then needed a clean-up procedure in May on that knee. But the receiver says it is a June procedure to clean up some cartilage damage that is preventing him from being cleared and returning to practice.

“To tell you the truth, it's the more recent one. If I didn't have that setback, I'd probably be practicing with the fellas right now, but I got that little bump in the road that set me back,” Britt told TitanInsider.com. “I just woke up and I felt a little clicking in my knee and a saw a little swelling the next day. They said I tore a little cartilage in there and they cleaned it out, and it actually felt better the next day after the surgery.”

Britt, who could be facing a league suspension as well as dealing with his knee issues, said his knee was sore last week during a day of rest, but there was no swelling in it.

“It seems like every day I'm getting closer, but you've got some good days and some great days, and then one of those days where your knee feels really sore, and you feel like you need to back it up and things like that,” Britt said. “Hopefully, I'll get back for the first week of the regular season or maybe even closer than that. I'm just taking it a day at a time.”
