Add linebacker coach to list of Eagles' needs

When the Philadelphia Eagles finish re-tooling their defensive coaching staff, they’ll have new faces across the board.

That is because word came out today that linebackers coach Bill Shuey has departed. Technically, Shuey was not fired. His contract expired and Andy Reid elected to not renew him. He had been on the staff for 10 seasons.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the only men standing from last year are assistant linebackers coach Mike Caldwell and defensive quality control assistant Michael Zordich.

The Eagles have hired defensive line coach Jim Washburn, but need to find a coordinator, linebackers coach and secondary coach. Perhaps Caldwell and Zordich could be in line for promotions.
