Aaron Hernandez indicted by grand jury on first-degree murder charge
Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was indicted today by a Massachusetts grand jury on a first-degree murder charge.
Hernandez is accused of orchestrating the murder of semipro football player Odin Lloyd.
Although Hernandez was already charged with first-degree murder and is in jail without bail, this legal development is a reinforcement of the prosecution going forward with its case against the former NFL player.
Hernandez was released by the Patriots shortly before he was charged in June.
Hernandez is also being investigated by Boston police in connection to a 2012 double-murder.
