Jermichael Finley is going to buck up this season for a Boston charity.
Even if he doesn't make the catch.
The Green Bay Packers tight end has pledged to donate $500 for every touchdown reception to charity in the wake of the marathon bombings this season. And for every pass he drops he’s going to chip in another $500. So, no matter what team you are rooting for, there will be occasion to have a cheering interest as it relates to Finley's performance on the gridiron.
“I'll b donating $500 4 every dropped pass this season 2 One Fund Boston. Now fans can cheer & boo me @ the same time! Also giving $500/TD!” Finley wrote on his Twitter account.
Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com noted that New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola has pledged $100 per reception this season and $200 per drop. But as Seifert points out, ESPN Stats & Information said Amendola had only one drop in 2012. Finley had six with 11 fewer targets.
A good cause will be helped by both players.
